You will be given a provisional ballot instead. Your provisional ballot will be counted after Election Day, as long as your vote-by-mail ballot is not received.
Yes, you can. Go to an early voting location or your polling place on Election Day. Explain to the election judges that you did not receive your vote-by-mail ballot. The election judges should ask you to sign an affidavit stating you didn’t receive the ballot, and then give you a new ballot. If at any time your election authority or an election judge refuses to give you a ballot, please call our Voter Protection Hotline at 224-990-2200.

You can mail it back to your election authority or you can take it to any of the dropbox locations listed above If you reside in Champaign county. Unfortunately, Vermilion county does not have any drop boxes. You can also return it to your election authority personally. Some election authorities are allowing ballots to be returned at early voting locations. Keep in mind, your ballot must be returned or postmarked by election day. We strongly encourage returning your ballot whatever way works for you as soon as you fill it out!
